Subtitles and drafts

Subtitles

Subtitles come from the narration, one cue per sentence. This spec burns them in:

subtitles: burn
terminal: {width: 960, height: 540, font_size: 20}
scenes:
  - id: intro
    narration: >-
Subtitles come from the narration. Each sentence becomes one cue, and a long
sentence is split so that it fits in two lines.
    actions:
      - run: "grep -m1 subtitles subtitles.narratty.yaml"
  - id: modes
narration: Burned in, as here, or as files, or as a track that players can switch.
    actions:
      - run: 'echo "subtitles: none | files | track | burn"'
subtitles / --subtitles Result
files .srt and .vtt beside the video
track Soft track in the mp4, switchable in the player
burn Drawn into the picture

Draft

--draft previews actions and timing without TTS: estimated narration lengths, half size, 10 fps, narration burned in as subtitles. The same spec as a draft:

narratty build examples/subtitles/subtitles.narratty.yaml --draft # subtitles.draft.mp4
